"My experience at BlackHawk Natural Horsemanship Center was life changing. Helen made me aware of new techniques and experiences that will change my riding forever and she helped my horse and I through a transformation that was magical. My horse went from being a disrespectful, spooky, fearful horse to a calm and willing partner and a much safer horse to work with. I no longer fear being bucked off or hurt. I continue to gain knowledge through being a life long learner. The philosophy that is practiced at BlackHawk is hard to put in words – it's really a complete experience. The horses are allowed to be horses and the people become students, and the partnership builds!"

I came to Blackhawk with my horse Clue, a 14-year old American Saddle Bred / Quarter Horse. Clue has a great personality, but had two very bad habits. First, when mounting, I couldn't even swing my leg up over the saddle before he took off and second he would constantly want to turn around and head back towards the barn. Within 45 minutes, of my first lesson with Helen, I was able to mount Clue without him moving. The second session was equally successful. After 30 minutes of work I was able to control him much better and he was a very enjoyable ride. Of course I was very pleased with the outcome of the training, but what impressed me most was Helen's method of train-ing. She's centered on being gentle, patient, consistent and reassuring both to horse and rider. If you or your horse needs training, from small to big issues like Clue had, I would highly recommend Helen and Blackhawk.
